7 Steps To Achieve Your Fitness Goals Now In 2023
It’s time to take the actionable steps to achieve your goals.
Setting goals is an essential part of any fitness journey. Whether you want to lose weight, build muscle, or improve your overall health and fitness, having clear, specific, and measurable goals will help you stay motivated and on track. Today, we will discuss how to set effective goals for your fitness journey.
I have 7 steps in how you can achieve your goals. After going though the steps, you will be set up for success and ready to crush every goal that you set.
Let’s dive in!!
1. Start With A Specific Goal
Break down your goal into smaller, specific, and measurable goals: Once you have your broad goal in mind, start breaking it down into smaller, specific, and measurable goals. For example, if your goal is to lose weight, a specific goal could be “I want to lose 10 pounds in the next 6 months” and this goal is absolutely obtainable. You can actually lose MORE than 10 pounds in 6 months, but this is just an example of being specific with your goals.
2. Write It Down
You want to grab you a journal and jot down your goals in writing. The Bible tells us in Habakkuk 2:2 to write the vision and make it plain. This is so that you can visibly see what your goals are and it will help you stay on track. It’s not enough to keep those thoughts in your head.
Write them down!
3. Create A Plan
Once you have decided on a specific goal and wrote it down, then it s time to create a plan. This will include steps to follow such as how often you will workout, what you will eat, are you working out at home or in the gym, etc. If you don’t know where to start, click here and we can help you start your journey.
4. Keep Track Of Your Progress
Keeping track of your progress will help you stay motivated and on track. You can track your progress using a journal, an app, or by taking measurements or progress photos.
I suggest taking progress pics to help you see your progress. Oftentimes, the weight or inches will come off gradually and we will feel as if no progress is made. Remember 2 things: pictures and numbers don’t like. What you see in the pictures and what you see on the scale are true, but the good news is that you can CHANGE it!
Keep up with what you do and a year from now you will be glad you did.
5. Mix It Up
Make sure you mix up what you do day to day, especially what you eat so that you are not hating what you eat. Speaking of eating, you don’t have to eat the same thing all of the time. You can still eat the things that you love, but in moderation. Besides, cutting out the foods you love is no fun anyway is it!
You can switch up your routine by joining a class, working with a Personal Trainer, riding a bike instead of walking on a treadmill, or even pick up some weights to use. You want to be able to challenge your body in different ways to ensure that your body does not get use to a routine.
6. Review Time
Regularly review your progress and adjust your plan as needed. If you’re not seeing the results you want, re-evaluate your plan and make changes. Don’t stick to a regimen that is not working for you. If it is feeling wrong or you even if you need help, make sure you get it because your success is in your hands. So take the reigns, review your progress and get help if needed!
7. Repeat The Cycle
Now it is time to go back to step #1 and repeat until you have reached all of your goals whether they are health, business, family, or even career goals. Make them obtainable and reach for the stars!!
